Aircall + monday.com integration not working? Every error, fixed
Most Aircall + monday.com install failures are permissions problems: the V2 integration needs admin rights in both systems and board-creation permission in the workspace you install into. The rest come from following V1 instructions, skipping the number-linking step, or expecting contact sync to be instant when it is documented to wait for the next call. Every failure mode we know is below, with its fix.
01 / Summary
Key takeaways
- 01Permissions cause most install failures: you need admin in BOTH Aircall and monday.com, plus board-creation rights at the account level and in the target workspace.
- 02The current integration is V2, delivered through the marketplace app 'Aircall: Call & SMS in your work OS'. If your instructions mention a board template, they are V1 instructions.
- 03At least one Aircall number must be linked or nothing logs, no matter how correct the rest of the setup is.
- 04Contact sync is not instant by design: monday.com updates reach Aircall after the next call or message with that number.
- 05Message logging (SMS and WhatsApp) is off by default; missing texts usually means the toggle was never switched on.

03 / Permissions
The install permission error
This is the failure we see most, and Aircall's own prerequisites page confirms why: the install needs the Admin role in your monday.com account, or in the specific monday product you're installing into if you run more than one (Work Management and CRM count separately, and you need admin on each)1.
Admin alone isn't enough. Board-creation permission has to be enabled in two places: at the account level (Administration, then Permissions, then the Admin role's Boards section, confirm "Create boards" is on) and at the workspace level (the target workspace's own Permissions tab)1. The integration auto-creates its logging boards during install, so if it can't create boards, it can't install.
One more trap for multi-product accounts: an installed but unused monday product (commonly Work Management) can create permission complications during install. Aircall's docs note you can remove unused products under Administrator, then Billing, then Overview1. And make sure the marketplace app itself ("Aircall: Call & SMS in your work OS") is on its latest version via Administration, then Apps1.
If the error persists after all of that, use Aircall's documented workaround, which is the clean reinstall sequence in section 071.
Done-for-you install / $499 flat
Or never see this error. We install monday CRM + Aircall + DocRunner for $499.
One flat fee covers the whole working stack: your monday CRM boards built, the Aircall V2 integration installed and configured with the settings we recommend in these guides, numbers linked, and DocRunner wired in for document workflows. Setup work is completed in one business day; if you are porting existing numbers, carrier timelines apply and phones are typically live within a week.
Book your install slotThe $499 fee covers setup labor only. Aircall seats and usage are billed by Aircall directly; monday.com licenses are not included; DocRunner is $40/month after setup. Engagements are governed by our Terms. LaunchEngine is an Aircall partner and may earn referral commissions.
04 / V1 vs V2
You may be following the wrong instructions
There are two generations of this integration, and both sets of instructions are still on the internet. The legacy V1 flow worked through an "Aircall Calls" board template4. The current V2 integration works through the monday.com marketplace app "Aircall: Call & SMS in your work OS" plus a connection made from the Aircall Dashboard2,5, and it's where the modern features live: SMS and WhatsApp logging, AI insights, insight cards, contact sync, and tag automations2.
The tell: if your instructions talk about a board template, you're reading V1 docs. If they talk about the marketplace app and the Aircall Dashboard's "monday.com V2" entry, you're in the right place. Mixing the two flows is a reliable way to end up with a half-installed integration. Aircall publishes an upgrade guide for moving from V1 to V23; our full setup guide walks the V2 path end to end.
05 / Not logging
Installed, but calls or texts do not appear
The number one cause is the number-linking requirement: at least one Aircall number must be linked to the integration for any call or message activity to log2. An install with zero linked numbers completes without complaint and then logs nothing. Number assignments can be updated anytime in the Aircall Dashboard.
For missing texts specifically: message logging for SMS and WhatsApp is disabled by default (call logging is enabled by default)2. Flip the message logging toggle in the integration settings and texts will start landing on the Aircall Messages board.
Also verify the boards exist: a completed install auto-creates "Aircall Calls" and "Aircall Messages" boards suffixed with an integration ID2. No boards means the install never finished, which usually points back to permissions.
06 / Contact sync
Contacts lag until the next call
This one generates support tickets that aren't bugs. Aircall documents the sync timing plainly: updates made in monday.com reflect in Aircall following the next call or message with that number2. Edit a contact at 9am and the change shows up in Aircall when that contact next calls or texts, not at 9:01. Set that expectation with your team and this "failure" disappears.
If contacts aren't syncing at all, check the configuration instead: the contact or lead board must be linked in the integration settings with the name column and up to three phone columns mapped, and only Public and Shared boards appear in the picker, so a Private CRM board can't be linked until you change its visibility2. One more tell: contacts arriving named "Aircall New Contact" means no contact board is configured, so Aircall is creating placeholders2.
07 / Reset
The clean reinstall sequence
When nothing above resolves it, reset cleanly rather than poking at a half-broken install. This sequence includes Aircall's documented workaround for persistent permission errors1:
- 01Confirm permissions before touching anything. Verify you hold the Admin role in monday.com (for the account, or for each monday product if you run several) and that Create boards is enabled under Administration then Permissions, and again in the target workspace's Permissions tab.
- 02Uninstall the Aircall app from every workspace. Remove 'Aircall: Call & SMS in your work OS' from all monday.com workspaces it is installed in, not just the one that failed.
- 03Reinstall with All Workspaces scope. Reinstall the app from the monday.com marketplace and select All Workspaces when prompted. This is Aircall's documented workaround for persistent permission errors.
- 04Re-run the integration setup from the Aircall side. In the Aircall Dashboard go to Integrations, then Apps, select monday.com V2, install, and authorize with the monday admin account.
- 05Link at least one number and verify the boards. Link one or more Aircall numbers, select your workspace, and confirm the Aircall Calls and Aircall Messages boards were auto-created. Place a test call; it should log within moments.
Still stuck after a clean reinstall? Gather your monday.com plan level, your role in both systems, and a screenshot of the exact error before contacting Aircall support; it shortcuts the first two rounds of back-and-forth. Or read our comparison of phone systems for monday.com if you're reconsidering the stack entirely.
